Rogue Valley in Spring

In April of this year we took a road trip down to Medford and Ashland, Oregon to visit our friends the Holubs. It was so good to see our friends, and great to have a multi-day get-away for the family. And it was also the perfect time of year to visit the Rogue valley; the last of the snow on the tops of the surrounding mountains was melting, the valley was lush and green and the temperatures, though warmer than Seattle's northern climes, were still cool enough to enjoy the afternoon sun.

We were there long enough to just scratch the surface of the local charms, such as the Rogue Creamery out in Central Point, New Sammy's Cowboy Bistro just outside of Ashland, the Roxy Ann Winery and the Weisinger Family Winery; not to mention a few trips to the Holub's own Buttercloud Bakery.

We also enjoyed a spectacular hike through the Coastal Range foothills, vistas where ever you were, and of course the stunning views from Gibson and Ellen's hillside home in Ashland. Thanks family, and thanks Ellen and Gibson, for such a grand visit!
