Christ Church Cathedral

Here is a set taken in and around Christ Church Cathedral. Built on a hill overlooking the heart of the city at the time, the cathedral was founded 1028, though its oldest features date from the 1180's after the invasion of the Normans.

One of the strangest displays in the Cathedral are the mummified remains of a cat and a rat (seen in one of the photos below). They were found together in one of the organ pipes during a cleaning in the 1850's. This weird sight even caught the notice of Joyce who mentions it in his novel Finnegan's Wake.
